Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam,
Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius
The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius.
The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed the post-2015 development agenda, as well as the challenges faced by Small Island Developing States (SIDS), including Mauritius, that are posed by climate change.
The Secretary-General commended Mauritius for its contribution to international efforts to combat piracy. He stressed the need for the international community to support the efforts of the region in this regard.
The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister also discussed latest developments in Madagascar.
