Readout of Secretary-General's meeting with the President of the Republic of Burundi, H.E. Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza

They discussed the political situation in Burundi and the possible implications of the draft media law.

The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Burundi’s support to the Framework Agreement for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Great Lakes Region and also for continued support to stabilize the situation in Somalia, as well as its commitment to provide troops to MINUSMA.
