The Secretary-General and the Joint Special Representative of the United Nations and the League of Arab States for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, spoke today on the telephone with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Nabil Elaraby, for an in-depth discussion on the deteriorating crisis in Syria.  The two Secretaries-General expressed total support for the efforts of Mr. Brahimi in his exceptionally difficult task in helping to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria.
