Adviser, Post 2015 Development Agenda
Ms. Suvi Seppalainen has worked for the European Union since 2006. She has been posted to EU Delegations in Thailand and Mauritius and worked at the Africa department of the European External Action Service (EEAS) focusing on peace and security issues.
Between July 2012 and October 2014, she was member of the cabinet of the EU High Representative Catherine Ashton, where her portfolio included Africa, Caribbean, development and human rights. Earlier in her career, she worked at UNESCO and as a journalist.
Ms. Seppalainen holds Masters degrees in international relations and economics from Stockholm University and Université libre de Bruxelles and a Bachelors degree in journalism and communications from Goldsmiths, University of London. She also studied French and art history at Paris-Sorbonne University. Ms. Seppalainen is a national of Finland.
