Adviser and Speechwriter

 

Cianna serves as an Adviser and the Speechwriter for the President of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly.

She joined the Office of the President of the UN General Assembly from the Permanent Mission of Ireland to the United Nations in New York, where she was the focal point for Security Council affairs related to Sub-Saharan Africa, Sustaining Peace, and the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda.

Prior to her time at the Irish Mission, Cianna worked for the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) from both Rome and New York. She served in various roles related to advocacy and program implementation, with a focus on rule of law initiatives in South Sudan. She also brings experience in the area of human rights advocacy, gained through her previous work with projects and events affiliated with Amnesty International.

Cianna received a Bachelor in Laws and Master of Arts from the School of Law at Trinity College Dublin, as well as a Diploma in International Relations from Sciences Po, Paris.
