International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
The IAEA is the world's center of cooperation in the nuclear field. It was set up as the world´s "Atoms for Peace" organization in 1957 within the United Nations family. The Agency works with its Member States and multiple partners worldwide to promote safe, secure and peaceful nuclear technologies.
International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
ITU is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies – ICTs. We allocate global radio spectrum and satellite orbits, develop the technical standards that ensure networks and technologies seamlessly interconnect, and strive to improve access to ICTs to underserved communities worldwide. United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)
The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) as a multilateral platform facilitates greater economic integration and cooperation among its fifty-six member States and promotes sustainable development and economic prosperity. The UNECE contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of the UN through the regional implementation of outcomes of global UN Conferences and Summits. United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
UNESCO works to create the conditions for dialogue among civilizations, cultures and peoples, based upon respect for commonly shared values. It is through this dialogue that the world can achieve global visions of sustainable development encompassing observance of human rights, mutual respect and the alleviation of poverty, all of which are at the heart of UNESCO’S mission and activities. United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
UNIDO seeks to enable the poor to earn a living through productive activities, thus to find a path out of poverty. The Organization provides a comprehensive range of services customized for developing countries and transition economies, ranging from industrial policy advice to entrepreneurship and SME development, and from technology diffusion to sustainable production and the provision of rural energy for productive uses. United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)
UNITAR is a training arm of the United Nations System, serving some 27,000 beneficiaries annually by conducting more than 400 capacity development and research activities around the world. The Mission of UNITAR is to deliver innovative training and conduct research on knowledge systems to develop capacities of beneficiaries in the fields of Environment; Peace, Security and Diplomacy; and Governance. United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR)
UNISDR's work is guided by it's four strategic objectives: 1. Strengthen support to the implementation and coordination of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction and the Hyogo Framework of Action and improve coherence with climate change adaptation (CCA) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs); 2. Produce and disseminate credible evidence to strengthen decision-making at local, national, and regional levels in support of disaster risk reduction (DRR), CCA, and achievement of the MDGs; 3. Increase public and private sector investments in DRR and CCA through advocacy and outreach; 4. Deliver and communicate results with a more effective, results-oriented UNISDR to carry out its mandate. (more)

World Food Programme (WFP)
WFP is the food aid arm of the United Nations system. Food aid is one of the many instruments that can help to promote food security, which is defined as access of all people at all times to the food needed for an active and healthy life. The policies governing the use of World Food Programme food aid must be oriented towards the objective of eradicating hunger and poverty. European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN)
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe.
