Event Summary:
“The Climate Crisis and the Power of Story” was the theme of the second in an ongoing virtual workshop series jointly organized by CCOI and the Producers Guild of America. The workshop, which took place on 14 November 2020, explored how creators in film and television can work with the UN to build awareness, change attitudes, and inspire action to address the climate crisis.
Renowned producer and writer Norman Lear and Emmy-nominated filmmaker and activist Lyn Davis Lear took part in a keynote conversation about their work to advance social and environmental issues through storytelling. The event also included two panel discussions where creators of socially impactful films and television programming discussed their work with industry and UN experts.
CCOI's Role:
In collaboration with the PGA, CCOI created the event programme, identified themes for discussion, and secured industry and UN experts as panelists for the virtual workshop.
