Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand

The Secretary-General met with H.E. General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. 

They noted the importance of addressing climate change and extremism. They also discussed in depth the recent developments in the country, while also touching on the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the region. The Secretary-General encouraged that all differences be solved through political dialogue and compromise. He further underscored the importance of protecting human rights and ensuring the return to a democratically elected civilian government.
