Today, the Deputy Secretary-General, Amina J. Mohammed, has arrived in Egypt to represent the Secretary-General at the Cairo Ministerial Conference to Enhance the Humanitarian Response in Gaza. On Monday, 2 December, she will deliver his remarks at the official opening ceremony.
 
The Deputy Secretary-General is expected to stress that we must demand that all parties comply with their obligations under international law and that the delivery of humanitarian aid must be predictable and sustained.
 
On the sidelines of the conference, Ms Mohammed is expected to meet with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty. She will also meet other heads of delegations in attendance.
