The Secretary-General yesterday met with H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan. 

The Secretary-General commended the President for his leadership and commitment to the promotion of the international decade for action “Water for Sustainable Development” (2018-2028) and for personally co-chairing the 2023 mid-term review with the King of the Netherlands.

The Secretary-General and the President discussed UN-Tajikistan cooperation, as well as climate change, its impact on glaciers melting and ways to reverse it. They also discussed regional developments.
