The Secretary-General met today with His Majesty King Willem-Alexander King of the Netherlands, Prince of Orange-Nassau. The Secretary-General thanked the King for his leadership and commitment to the promotion of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” (2018-2028) and for co-chairing the 2023 Mid-term Comprehensive Review on the Implementation of the Water Action Decade with H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. 

They also discussed various issues related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, including questions of sustainable water management and climate change.
