The Secretary-General met with H.E. Ms. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania. The Secretary-General welcomed the recent significant policy shifts in the country, including on the management of the COVID-19 pandemic. They also discussed peace and security challenges in the region. The Secretary-General reiterated the United Nations’ support to the United Republic of Tanzania in its effort to achieve Agenda 2030.
