The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea.
 
The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for the Republic of Korea’s important contributions to the United Nations, including through support to the Sustainable Development Goals. He furthermore noted that many around the world take inspiration from the Republic of Korea’s own economic development model.
 
The Secretary-General and the President exchanged views on the Korean Peninsula. They agreed on the importance of working towards a peaceful diplomatic solution, as well as for Member States to comply fully with relevant Security Council resolutions.
