Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Prime Minister of Uganda

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Prime Minister of Uganda. They agreed on the historical importance of the Paris Agreement which will be signed on 22 April.

The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister exchanged views on the main peace, security and humanitarian challenges facing the region, including recent developments in Burundi and South Sudan.

They also discussed continued United Nations and regional efforts aimed at addressing these challenges as well as the importance of the upcoming World Humanitarian Summit.
