The Secretary-General met today with. H. E. Mr. Adel al-Jubeir, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

They discussed the ongoing situation in Yemen, Syria, the Middle East Peace Process as well as common objectives in the fight against terrorism.

On Yemen, the Secretary-General underlined his strong view that there was no military solution to the Yemeni conflict. He called for an immediate cease-fire and increased humanitarian access, and resolving all differences peacefully through inclusive dialogue and negotiations.

The Secretary-General also expressed his deepest condolences to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the death of pilgrims in the tragic incident near Mecca on 24 September.
