Readout of Secretary-General's meeting with H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoðan, Prime Minster of Turkey, on the margins of the 66th General Assembly

The Secretary-General met today, 22 September 2011, with H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoðan, Prime Minister of Turkey.

They discussed a range of regional issues, including the situations in Libya, Syria, and Somalia. They also exchanged views on the Middle East Peace Process, the Palmer report, and the Cyprus talks.

The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the role of Turkey in hosting the Fourth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries.
