The Secretary-General met with Mr. Porfirio Lobo, President of Honduras, during his visit to Guatemala. The Secretary-General and President Lobo spoke about the latest political developments in Honduras, including the situation of human rights and the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

They also discussed rising insecurity and criminality and the Secretary-General commended Honduras for seeking a regional approach to tackle the problem alongside national efforts.
