The Secretary-General is profoundly saddened by the loss of life and destruction caused by the accidental explosion of an ammunition depot in Brazzaville on Sunday, 4 March 2012. He extends his sincere condolences to the families of the bereaved and to the Government and people of Congo as a whole. The United Nations expresses its support to the Republic of Congo at this difficult time and reassures the authorities of its continued cooperation and assistance to ongoing humanitarian relief operations.

Le Secrétaire général est profondément attristé par les pertes en vies humaines et les dégâts matériels engendrés par l’explosion accidentelle d’un dépôt de munitions à Brazzaville le dimanche 4 mars 2012. Il présente ses sincères condoléances aux familles des défunts ainsi qu’au Gouvernement et au peuple congolais dans son ensemble. Les Nations Unies expriment leur soutien à la République du Congo dans ce moment difficile et renouvellent aux autorités congolaises les assurances de leur coopération continue et de leur assistance aux opérations humanitaires d’urgence en cours.
