The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Elmer Schialer Salcedo, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Peru. The Secretary-General congratulated Peru for its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister discussed Peru’s efforts to combat poverty and social exclusion, to strengthen multilateralism and to address debt relief.

El Secretario General se reunió con S.E., el Señor Elmer Schialer Salcedo, Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de la República del Perú. El Secretario General felicitó al Perú por su compromiso para alcanzar los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible. El Secretario General y el Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores conversaron sobre los esfuerzos del Perú para combatir la pobreza y la exclusión social, para fortalecer el multilateralismo y para abordar el alivio de la deuda.
