Today, the Secretary-General spoke with H.E. Mr. Nicolás Maduro Moros, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. They discussed the political situation in Venezuela. The Secretary-General expressed concern over reports of post-elections violence and allegations of human rights violations. He stressed the need to resolve any political dispute peacefully, through genuine and inclusive dialogue. The Secretary-General also took note of the positions of the Venezuelan President on the situation.

El Secretario General conversó hoy con el Excelentísimo Señor Nicolás Maduro Moros, Presidente de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela. Conversaron sobre la situación política en Venezuela. El Secretario General expresó preocupación por los informes de violencia post-electoral y violaciones de derechos humanos. Enfatizó la necesidad de resolver cualquier disputa política de manera pacífica, a través de un diálogo genuino e inclusivo.
