The Secretary-General met today with the Prime Minister of Fiji, H.E. Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama.
 
The Secretary-General commended Fiji’s strong advocacy and leadership on issues related to climate change and the oceans. He noted the importance of peace and security and sustainable development in the Pacific.
 
The Secretary-General appreciated Fiji’s contribution to United Nations peacekeeping.
