The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan. The two discussed the Global Sustainable Transport Conference, being held in Ashgabat on 26 and 27 November.

The two also discussed Turkmenistan’s progress in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as regional cooperation, including through the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

They also discussed regional developments.

The Secretary-General thanked the President for the new UN House, which they jointly opened earlier in the day.
