The Secretary-General met separately today in Copenhagen, with H.E. Ms. Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Prime Minister; H.E. Mr. Martin Lidegaard, Foreign Minister; and H.E. Mr. Rasmus Helveg Petersen, Minister for Climate, Energy and Building.
In all of his meetings, the Secretary-General commended Denmark for its efforts to promote global action to address climate change.
The Secretary-General thanked the Prime Minister for Denmarkâs significant contributions to the Ebola response. They also discussed the need for stability in Ukraine.
During his meeting with the Foreign Minister, they also conferred on the situations in the Middle East, Iraq, Syria and Somalia.
With the Climate, Energy and Building Minister, the Secretary-General emphasized the need to secure a meaningful, universal climate agreement in Paris.
