Readout of Secretary-General's meeting with Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and with H.E. Mr. Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The Secretary-General met today with Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and with H.E. Mr. Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed the situation in Ukraine and the investigation into the crash of flight MH17. The Secretary-General once again expressed his deepest condolences to the Netherlands for the tragic loss of so many citizens’ lives in the crash. 

The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister also discussed the situation in Syria and the Netherlands’ contributions in the Syrian context.

They also agreed on the need for urgent international efforts to combat the Ebola epidemic. 

Finally, the Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed the post-2015 development agenda.  They agreed that the process should remain as focused as possible, so as to deliver the best possible outcome.
