Today, the Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Mikhail V. Myasnikovich, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus. They discussed the situation in Ukraine, and the Secretary-General welcomed the important and constructive role played by Minsk in diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis.  He also thanked the PM for Belarus’ hospitality to refugees from Ukraine.

The Secretary-General said he was encouraged to learn of initial discussions between the Government of Belarus and civil society on various social issues, and expressed hope that broader participation and open inclusive dialogue with all social and political actors would continue to grow.
