The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.

The Secretary-General and the President exchanged views on the situation in Madagascar.

The Secretary-General underscored the need for African countries to speak with one voice on the issue of climate change. 

They also discussed the human rights situation regarding albinos in Tanzania.
