Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with Members of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the United States Senate

The Secretary-General met today with members of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the United States Senate including Robert Menendez, Chairman (D-New Jersey), and Bob Corker, Ranking Member (R-Tennessee).

They discussed a variety of topics of particular international relevance such as Syria and the impact of the crisis on its neighbours, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iran, Mali and the Sahel, the Middle East peace process, Sudan and South Sudan, climate change, sustainable development and United Nations reform.

The Secretary-General expressed his strong appreciation for U.S. leadership in and partnership with the United Nations.
