Readout of Secretary-General's meeting with Portuguese Foreign Minister

The Secretary-General met yesterday with H.E. Mr. Paulo Portas, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Portugal, to discuss a range of matters, including Syria.

The Secretary-General also expressed his appreciation for Portugal’s long-standing support for Timor-Leste and the successive UN missions there.

He also encouraged Portugal to continue its engagement in support of Guinea-Bissau’s peacebuilding and reform agenda. The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister also briefly discussed the Secretary-General’s recent visit to Angola.
