Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with H.E. Michele Alliot-Marie, the Foreign Minister of France

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Michele Alliot-Marie, the Foreign Minister of France, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference.

They discussed the African Union Summit, including Cote d'Ivoire and Guinea, and the Middle East peace process, the role of the Quartet and Lebanon.

The Secretary-General thanked the Minister for France's support for the UN's agenda and for underscoring France's close cooperation with the UN on the G8 and G20 during its presidency of both.
