The Secretary-General met today, 1 December 2010, with H.E. Ms. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Secretary of State of the United States of America, on the margins of the OSCE Summit in Astana.

They discussed Haiti, the Korean Peninsula, Sudan and Somalia as well as the complications caused by the recent massive leak of US diplomatic cables.

The Secretary-General briefed Secretary Clinton on the recent visit of his Special Adviser to Myanmar.

Secretary Clinton briefed the Secretary-General on the current state of the US effort to restart talks between the Israeli Government and the Palestinian Authority.
