The Secretary-General and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the UAE reviewed the launch of the direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, the financial situation of the Palestinian Authority, the situation in Gaza, and the work of UNWRA.

They also discussed several issues of mutual interest, including the situations in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Iraq, as well as piracy in the Horn of Africa. The Secretary-General thanked the UAE for its generous support in several areas of United Nations activity, and looked forward to its continued cooperation.
