Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo will arrive in Dakar on Sunday, 12 January, ahead of a weeklong visit that will take her, in addition to Senegal, to Guinea-Bissau, Niger, Nigeria and Burkina Faso. The Under-Secretary-General will discuss with national and regional leaders the security, political and humanitarian situation in the region and explore how the United Nations can enhance its support to efforts to tackle challenges to peace, security and stability, including the fight against terrorism.
