The Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Board on Mediation will hold its second meeting on 18 June 2018 in Helsinki, Finland. The meeting will be co-hosted by the Governments of Finland and Indonesia.
Following the meeting, Board members will discuss mediation and preventive diplomacy efforts and current challenges in the field during a panel event titled, “The state of mediation and conflict prevention today”. Moderated by Board member Jean-Marie Guéhenno, the panel discussion will take place from 15:00 to 16:30 hours (Central European Summer Time) and will be webcast live (https://formin.videosync.fi/state-of-mediation-and-conflict-prevention).
As part of his vision for a “surge in diplomacy for peace”, the Secretary-General established the High-Level Advisory Board on Mediation on 13 September 2017. The Board is composed of nine women and nine men, current and former global leaders, senior officials and renowned experts who bring together an unparalleled range of experience, skills, knowledge and relationships.
