As the world faces pressures from a changing climate, growing populations, food insecurity and increased energy demand, maintaining a qualified workforce to drive innovation and productivity is all the more crucial.

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP), presented by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), aims to increase the number of women in the nuclear field and promote an inclusive workforce of both men and women who contribute to and drive global scientific and technological innovation. MSCFP seeks to inspire and encourage young women to pursue a career in the nuclear field, by providing highly motivated female students with scholarships for Master’s programmes and an internship opportunity under the IAEA.

Eligibility:

The IAEA MSCFP is open to students from IAEA Member States who meet the following entry requirements:

  • Female candidates.
  • Accepted by or enrolled in an accredited university in Master’s programmes in a nuclear related field.

Preference will be given to applicants with above average academic credentials (75% or above or GPA > 3.0 out of 4.0).

Fields of study:

  • Nuclear engineering, non-proliferation, nuclear science and applications & nuclear safety and security. More examples of related fields are listed here.

MSCFP award:

  • The students are awarded up to €20,000 for tuition costs and up to €20,000 for living costs for the Master’s programme.
