National and Intergovernmental Focal Points

National Focal Points (NFPs) and Intergovernmental Focal Points (IFPs) are designated by Member States and the secretariats of relevant United Nations specialized agencies, programmes, funds and bodies and the secretariats of related organizations and conventions, respectively, to facilitate the implementation of the programme of work for the third cycle of the Regular Process and beyond. 

States that have not yet done so and Secretariats of relevant United Nations specialized agencies, programmes, funds and bodies and the secretariats of related organizations and conventions are encouraged to appoint their focal points.
