UN Environment Programme (UNEP) personnel are preparing for the world’s highest decision-making body for the environment: seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7).From 8-12 December, representatives leaders from around the world will gather in Nairobi, at a crucial time for people and the planet, with progress on many environmental commitments falling behind and the adaptation and emission gaps wide open.

As the year comes to a close, UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen says UNEA is an important moment to “deliver solutions that spark stronger, faster action on the three planetary environmental crises,” paving the way towards a resilient planet.

Key highlights include the launch of the Global Environmental Outlook 7, the Gala of Hope to announce and celebrate this year’s UN Champions of the Earth and UN World Restoration Flagships.
