Africa Day at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development 2025 kicks off with a preliminary virtual technical-level meeting on 24 June under the theme: “Unlocking decent jobs and social protection through inclusive growth and partnerships.”

The technical meeting brings together focal points from the African Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) countries ahead of the HLPF. It is an opportunity for African Member States to share good practices and lessons learned in implementing and monitoring the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union Agenda 2063.

The technical meeting will be followed by an in-person Ministerial-level meeting and the launch of the Africa Sustainable Development Report 2025 on 23 July.

Africa Day at the HLPF on Sustainable Development is jointly organized annually by the African Union Commission, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, the UN Development Programme, and the UN Office of the Special Adviser on Africa.

Participation is open to all, including Member States, policymakers, civil society, academia and the media.
