Tegan Brink

Ambassador Tegan Brink is the Chef de Cabinet to the President of the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.  Prior to this, Ms. Brink was the Deputy Permanent Representative of Australia to the United Nations from 2018.

Ambassador Brink joined the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2003 and has, over the course of her career, assumed foreign policy, trade and legal roles. From 2015-2017 she was an Assistant Secretary in the Office of Trade Negotiations, working as Deputy Chief Negotiator of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement, and Chief Negotiator of the review of the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement.  Previously, she led the Trade and Investment Law Branch. 

Ms. Brink has previously served at Australia’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations and World Trade Organization in Geneva (2005-2008) where she represented Australia in the WTO, WIPO and UNCTAD on intellectual property and trade and development matters.

She has also worked as Legal Counsel at the Advisory Centre on WTO Law in Geneva where she provided advice and represented developing countries in international trade disputes. 

Ambassador Brink holds Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degrees from the University of Sydney and a Master of Laws from Columbia University in New York, which she attended as a Fulbright Scholar.  She is an Australian legal practitioner admitted to the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory.  Ms Brink speaks English and French.
