Nhat Nguyen is an Advisor in the Human Rights and Humanitarian Team at the Office of the President of the United Nations General Assembly. She previously served in the Cabinet of the 78th President of the General Assembly.

Prior to joining the Office, Nhat was a member of the Permanent Mission of Viet Nam and covered General Assembly matters, the Fourth Committee, Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations, relations with the Asia-Pacific region, ASEAN, elections as well as public diplomacy. During Viet Nam’s membership as non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the term 2020-2021, Nhat was in charge of a wide range of issues across the agenda of the Council, including Eastern Europe matters, peacekeeping and peacebuilding, women peace and security and children in armed conflict.

A career diplomat, Nhat worked at the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam.

She graduated with a Master’s degree in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
