Narmin Ahangari

Narmin Ahangari joined the Office of the President of the General Assembly from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

She started her diplomatic career in 2012 in the United Nations Division of the MFA and was a team member during Azerbaijan’s membership of the UN Security Council (2012-2013). From 2016 to 2019, she served at the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, where she covered human dimension issues. Starting in 2020, she was a focal point at the MFA for the Azerbaijani Chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement (2019-2022).

Narmin holds a Master’s degree in diplomacy and international affairs from ADA University in Baku and a Bachelor’s degree in international relations from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. She also completed educational programmes at Oxford University, the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies in Germany, and the Diplomacy Academy of the MFA of Turkey. She speaks Azerbaijani, English, Turkish, Russian and basic French.
