Mr. Sokniranh Phetrasy is a Fellow in the Office of the President of the General Assembly.
Sokniranh embarked on his professional journey at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR in 2020, initially as a probationary trainee and subsequently advancing to a full-time role. His keen interest in international diplomacy paved the way for his assignment to the UN Political and Security Division of the Department of International Organizations, focusing on analytical research on international conflicts and security. Previously, Sokniranh was involved in the UN Economic and Social Affairs Division. He is experienced in coordinating and overseeing UN development projects in Lao PDR.
Sokniranh holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the National University of Laos. Aside from his native Lao, he is fluent in English.
