Mohammed Amin Shaker

Mohammed Amin Shaker serves as an Adviser for Sustainable Development in the Office of the President of the 75th session of the General Assembly, focusing on the issues of desertification, drought, land degradation, biodiversity and culture. He also served in the same position in the Office of the President of the 74th session of the General Assembly, focusing on biodiversity, oceans, and culture, including preparations for the UN Biodiversity Summit at the level of Heads of State and Government, and the 2020 UN Ocean Conference (postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

Before joining the Office of the President of the General Assembly, Mohammed worked in the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, covering issues related to sustainable development, international peace and security and the Security Council, peacekeeping operations and legal affairs.

Mohammed holds a Masters of Arts in International Politics and Business from New York University (NYU), and a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
