Hanizah Binti Mohd Izzuddin
Hanizah Binti Mohd Izzuddin is an Adviser for Peace and Security issues in the Office of the President of the General Assembly (OPGA). She has served as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) in Malaysia since 2009. Prior to her secondment to OPGA, Hanizah was the Director at the Maritime Affairs Department.
Hanizah served as First Secretary at the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore (2014-2017). She also served at the Multilateral Political Division (2017-2019), Human Rights and Humanitarian Division (2012-2014), Research, Treaties and International Law Department (2010-2012) and the Strategic and Policy Planning Department (2009-2010). She holds a Diploma in Diplomacy from the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) Malaysia, participated in the United Nations Regional Course in International Law in Bangkok (2018) and was a member of Malaysia’s Long-Term Delegate to the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2019.
Prior to joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Malaysia, Hanizah was in private practice handling corporate affairs and management, mergers and acquisition, debt recovery and civil litigation. She holds an M.A. in Diplomacy, Law and Global Change from Coventry University, United Kingdom (2008) and a Bachelor of Law (LLB Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. She was called to Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya in 2003. Hanizah is a Malaysian national.
