
A career diplomat from Croatia, Dijana Delaye is the Deputy Team Leader for Sustainable Development and Financing for Development. She is the focal point for the Second Committee, ECOSOC, the UN pledging conference, and the High-Level Political Forum review process.
Dijana previously served as Senior Advisor for Sustainable Development in charge of the SDG Summit and Second Committee in the Office of the President of the 77th session of the General Assembly.
Previously, from 2017 to 2022, she served as the Minister Counsellor focused on sustainable development and humanitarian affairs at the Permanent Mission of Croatia to the UN.
During her 20 years of service in the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Integration, her portfolio covered a wide range of topics, including European integration, sustainable development, environmental issues, climate, water, energy, health, food, youth, education, financing for development, digital transformation, and humanitarian issues.
Dijana has a Master’s degree in English and German from the University of Zagreb (2002), a Master’s in International Relations and Management from the University of Amsterdam (2004), and a PHD in Political Science (Transitional justice) (2020). She speaks English, German and French.
