
Asha DeSuza is the Team Leader for Sustainable Development and Financing for Development in the Office of the President of the 78th Session.
Asha has served at the Permanent Mission of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations since 2017. She was the expert assigned to the Human Rights, Humanitarian and Social Affairs Committee as well as the Legal Committee. Asha was also responsible for global health and foreign policy, international migration and oceans affairs.
Asha has previously served as the CARICOM coordinator and negotiator of several resolutions and political declarations since 2018. She negotiated the Political Declaration on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response, the Political Declaration on Universal Health Coverage and the Political Declaration on the Fight Against Tuberculosis during the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly.
Prior to joining the Permanent Mission, Asha led the charge on Sustainable Development and the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
She was seconded by the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis from August 2023 to February 2024.
Asha holds a Master’s Degree in International Political Economy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Political Science.
