Anna Fritzsche
Anna is an Adviser on humanitarian issues in the Office of the President of the 75th session of the General Assembly, focusing on humanitarian assistance, international humanitarian law, refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), statelessness and migration, as well as on communications in line with this substantive portfolio. She also served in the Office of the President of the 74th Session as an Adviser on communications and on COVID-19-related initiatives.
Before joining the office, Anna worked as a Communications and Policy Officer at the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO) Directorate-General for Crisis Prevention, Stabilization, Peacebuilding and Humanitarian Assistance, where she developed and implemented strategies to communicate German engagement in fragile and crisis-ridden contexts to relevant constituencies. During this time, she was also seconded to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) as a short-term election observer.
Previously, Anna worked at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the team of the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator. She holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), attended Yale University for one year on a German Government (DAAD) scholarship as part of her graduate studies, and holds an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and International Studies from the University of Vienna.
