“PGA FOR A DAY”: PRESIDENT FRANCIS TO WELCOME STUDENTS FROM NYC PUBLIC SCHOOL’S GLOBAL LEADERS ACADEMY

On Thursday 22 August, President Francis will welcome two students from New York City Public School’s Global Leaders Academy programme to become “PGA for a Day”.

By shadowing Mr. Francis’s daily routine, the students will participate in meetings, discussions, and strategy sessions and will receive a comprehensive understanding of the UN General Assembly’s work.

The exercise “PGA for a Day” aims to be a transformative and enriching experience for the two New York-based students.

Under President Francis’s mentorship, the students will gain valuable insights into the responsibilities of global leadership and the challenges of diplomacy. This  opportunity offers a unique, in-depth look at the workings of one of the world’s leading diplomatic forums.

One of the students, Mr. Erik Ponomarev, 16 years old, is from Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, and the other student, Ms. Fariha Akter, 15 years old, attends the Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics in the Bronx.

We will post more information as the day progresses on Thursday across the PGA’s social media channels and on his YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@UNPGA78.
