The sighting of the moon heralds the beginning of Ramadan for 1.9 billion Muslims globally, who have gathered today for the first tarawih prayers and partake in the pre-dawn suhoor meal, marking the commencement of this sacred month of fasting.
As this holy month of Ramadan dawns upon us, let us reflect on the profound significance of Ramadan, which emphasizes self-discipline, personal growth, and intensified devotion to Allah through acts of worship, charity, and restraint.
As we break bread when sun sets, let us remember those who go hungry and are in dire need of assistance. In the spirit of Ramadan, let us strive to alleviate their suffering and ensure that food reaches those who need it most.
Let us prioritize our shared humanity over our differences, working towards a more peaceful and harmonious world.
Let us reaffirm our commitment to peace, prosperity, progress, and sustainability, for all, everywhere.
May this season of Ramadan bring us closer together as we cherish our shared values of faith, family, and community.
