High Level Forum on Culture of Peace
United Nations, 1 September 2017 — Recognizing the need to further promote a culture of peace and non-violence that benefits humanity, particularly in the current global context and also taking note of the importance of respect and understanding for religious and cultural diversity throughout the world, of choosing dialogue and negotiations over confrontation and of working together and not against each other, the President of the General Assembly, H.E Peter Thomson, will convene a one-day High Level Forum on Culture of Peace, on 7 September 2017, at UN Headquarters, New York. The one-day event includes an opening session and a plenary in the morning and a panel discussion on “Sowing the Seeds of the Culture of Peace: Early Childhood is the beginning” in the afternoon.
