H.E. Mr. Sam Kahamba Kutesa, President of the General Assembly (PGA), met today with senators of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Senate Committee of France. The delegation was headed by Hon. Xavier Pintat, Vice-President of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Senate Committee and accompanied by Mr. François-Xavier Deniau, Secretary-General of the French delegation to the sixty-ninth session of the General Assembly.

President Kutesa briefed the French delegation on the priorities for the current session, such as the Post-2015 Development Agenda and its implementation, climate change, gender equality and women empowerment, cooperation between regional organisations and the United Nations, revitalization of the General Assembly and the reform of the Security Council. They also discussed global efforts to support the African continent, in particular in the fight against terrorism in Africa.
The President and the senators also exchanged views on the global response to the Ebola outbreak.
